Journalist, scientist, teacher: 60 years of creative activity of Zarkyn Taishybai

Kozybayev University hosted a creative evening of Professor Zarkyn Taishybai, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorary Journalist of Kazakhstan, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Many eminent reporters, correspondents, publicists, editors consider him as their mentor. After all, he stood at the origins of the country's higher education in the field of journalism. After graduating from Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov (now the National University named after Al-Farabi), worked by profession in the editorial office of newspapers. The pedagogical path began at the E.A. Buketov KSU , where, on his initiative, the department of journalism was created, which he later headed.

Zarkyn Syzdykovich has been working in our alma mater for 20 years. Here in 2001, with his direct participation, the specialty "Journalism" was opened in the state language of instruction, then the department at the philological faculty was reorganized into an independent department. He heads the Center for Ethnocultural Research, where he conducts scientific research on the study of historical personalities, the heritage of Ablai Khan, Abai, Magzhan Zhumabaev and others, as well as local history. He has published about 400 scientific articles on the theory of Kazakh, Russian literature and journalism, the history of the Kazakh Khanate, problems of education and culture of the republic, published about 40 books.

At the event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the creative activity of Zarkyn Taishybai, colleagues, friends and associates, prominent journalists of the region, teachers, public figures spoke about his contribution to Kazakhstani science and the training of young specialists. Deputy Akim of North Kazakhstan region Gani Nygmetov introduced those present with the congratulatory speech of the head of the region. Many warm words of gratitude and congratulations were heard from the students of Zarkyn Syzdykovich. According to a good tradition, the respected teacher and scientist was donned a national shapan.

Today, Zarkyn Taishybai continues teaching at our university, passing on his knowledge and experience to the younger generation. Teaches to treat the profession of a journalist as a vocation, art and service to the Fatherland.
