Our university took part in the NICOPA project under the European Union ERASMUS+ program

In 2018, the Kozybayev University team began scientific research on the NICOPA project "New and innovative courses for precision farming" (www.nicopa.eu) under the Erasmus+ program.

The main direction of research is related to improving educational programs by modernizing and introducing new courses on innovative technologies of precision farming, creating engineering laboratories, and carrying out internships for teachers, specialists and students at leading European universities.

Participation in the NICOPA project allowed the staff of our university to improve their professional competencies through international internships, significantly increased their level of language training. Stimulated teaching staff to further professional development. It allowed to acquire the skills of business communication, office management, use of modern information and communication tools, interaction with various categories of representatives of the precision agriculture sphere, including engineers, IT specialists, farmers, civil servants, etc.

During the internship at the Technical University of Berlin (Germany), associate professors of the Department of Energy and Radioelectronics Dmitry Ritter and Alexei Savostin received new knowledge, as well as materials on modernized disciplines. Were mastered: analysis of experimental data after static processing, reduced to very high accuracy, ways to find the correct result with the required extreme solution. These skills are necessary for teaching special disciplines in the areas of "Data collection and processing systems", "Artificial intelligence systems", "Computer vision systems". The main problem faced by teachers in the implementation of training courses is an acute lack of modern educational literature in the direction of the project.

Today, when modernizing educational programs, stakeholders are constantly involved as consultants, acting specialists of Shagala Agro LLP, Shatilo and K LLP, Atameken-agro LLP, Geoscan Kazakhstan LLP. Their main wish was to increase the practical component in the training programs with the aim of enhancing these skills among graduates.
