Impact and sustainability of the DOCMEN ERASMUS+ project

The DOCMEN project "Development of a two-level innovative educational program in microelectronics" (https://www.docmen-project.pl) was carried out under the international ERASMUS+ program in 2016-2018. It was aimed at improving specialties by modernizing and introducing new courses on innovative technologies of micro- and nanoelectronics, creating an engineering laboratory MicLab, training for teachers and specialists in leading European universities.

The DOCMEN working group is satisfied with the results of the project, achieved during its implementation at our university. In particular, modernized educational programs have been introduced into the educational process in accordance with the components of the Bologna process, which allows them to be brought to the international level and carried out by a double-diploma method, as well as through the academic mobility of teachers and students.

An office for project support and dissemination of knowledge and services in microelectronics (MicSO) functions on the basis of the Department of Energy and Radioelectronics, which contributes to the expansion of relations of the university with industrial and academic partners.

A laboratory for nano- and microelectronics was opened. It allows you to provide the educational process with modern infocommunication and technical means for the EP involved in the project, as well as other areas of study. Stable mutually beneficial relations have been established with the consortium universities. A cooperation agreement was signed with Toraighyrov University.

The teaching staff of alma mater received a unique opportunity to undergo foreign internships at leading European universities, as well as access to their current information in the areas of nano- and microelectronics. DOCMEN contributed to the overall development of international cooperation and globalization of higher education for all stakeholders: teaching staff, stakeholders, students, non-academic partners.

In the process of implementing the project, at the expense of the university, foreign scientists were invited to give lectures to students in the areas of micro- and nanoelectronics: V. Videnkov and S. Tsanova from the Technical University of Sofia (Bulgaria), A. Tolstoguzov - professor at the New Lisbon University (Portugal).

In addition, 20 disciplines were modernized in accordance with modern data in the field of micro- and nanoelectronics in the specialties of bachelor's and master's degrees "Radio Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications", "Instrument Engineering", "Electric Power Engineering", "Information Systems", "Physics". The total number of ECTS credits is 77.
