Volunteer lawyers guarding consumer protection

Kozybayev University students majoring in “Jurisprudence” were trained in the “Law School” project, with the participation of experts in the field of consumer protection, organized in partnership with “Active Youth” YPO with “Sanaly urpaq” PO. 15 children received certificates. Now they consolidate the theoretical knowledge gained during the internship, conducting consultations in the office for providing legal assistance to the population of the North Kazakhstan region of the Association for the Protection of the Rights of Consumers and Entrepreneurs.

The guys will hone their practical skills for a month. They must work 20 hours (3 times a week, 2 hours a day). Students work here as volunteers and help people in need of legal literacy or advice. Mostly citizens from socially vulnerable groups apply. Those who cannot pay for legal services on their own.

The employees of the Association explain to volunteers what legislative and regulatory acts regulate the scope of this activity, the procedure for answering consumer questions, drawing up a claim letter, and more.

Note that for their volunteer work, all the children will receive a one-time 20,000 tenge, as participants in the state program "Social student loan".

Since in the future our students want to connect their lives with jurisprudence, for them this practice will be a good help in their professional activities. They note: “Everyone can find themselves in a situation where they will be deceived. We are here to help".
