Literary evening at Kozybayev University

The Department of Educational and Social Work together with the Institute of Language and Literature held a literary evening "Alashtyn shynary" in student dormitory No. 2, dedicated to the life and work of an outstanding Kazakh educator, public figure, poet, writer, master of ardent leadership, one of the liberal-democratic intellectuals, leaders of "Alash-Orda" and the national liberation movement of Kazakhstan, Myrzhakyp Dulatuly.

Dulatuly's political credo was clearly defined when in 1909 he published his first poetry collection "Oyan, Kazakh!" In 1910, he wrote the book "Bakytsyz Zhamal" (Unhappy Zhamal), which is the first novel written in the Kazakh language and devoted to the problem of the unequal position of women.

At the event, the guys read excerpts from the author's favorite works, talked about his plight, true patriotism and rich cultural heritage.
