Broadcasting the experience of Nazarbayev University

The first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev owns many initiatives in various spheres of the life of Kazakhstani society. One of them is the opening of Nazarbayev University in June 2010. As part of the celebration on December 1, at the initiative of the Department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, an informal online meeting of Nazarbayev University graduates and the student activists of our alma mater-student administration, the trade union, the Committee for Youth and Volunteers was held.

The subject of the conversation was the discussion of the student self-government system at the main university of the country and the possibility of its broadcast at Kozybayev University.

Participants of the meeting: Adil Kusamanov - graduate of bachelor's degree in mathematics from Nazarbayev University and master's degree at Oxford University (UK), consultant of the expert-analytical group of the Center for Analysis and Monitoring of Socio-Economic Reforms under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Rustam Bekishev - graduate of Nazarbayev University and Master's program KAUST (Saudi Arabia), Senior Analyst at AERC (Applied Economics Research Centre). Yakov Voronkov is a Nazarbayev University graduate, head of the Secretariat of the League of Academic Integrity and the Academic and Research Council of KAZGUU named after M.S. Narikbaeva.

The guests spoke about their studies, participation in student self-government and activities in the Nazarbayev University Alumni Association. They answered students' questions about academic activity, admission to a master's degree, and learning English.

According to the speakers, the professionalism of each person is based on the basic knowledge gained at school, university, and then, on the basis of continuous self-education, which should be throughout life.

Education at Nazarbayev University and foreign universities in a multicultural environment, in their opinion, is impossible without a tolerant and respectful attitude to the laws, customs and traditions of other countries and peoples. They believe that Nazarbayev University is a school for the formation of the "DNA" of academic honesty, hard work, fairness, high standards of requirements for oneself and other people.

Since 2017, the Office has been established to translate the experience of Nazarbayev University to other universities in the country. This meeting was aimed at introducing and introducing the best practices of Nazarbayev University student self-government activities in our alma mater, developing academic honesty, the cult of knowledge, transparency and communication.
