University Master's student Bogdan Petrov spoke to the President at the closing of the Year of Volunteer

The official closing ceremony of the Year of the Volunteer was held at the Republican Front Office "Birgemiz" with online participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and activists from 17 regions of the country. The head of state highly appreciated the activities of the volunteers of Kazakhstan and thanked them for their invaluable contribution to the development of society.

At the event, Kozybayev University Master's student Bogdan Petrov spoke about his eco-project "Taza júrek: from a pure heart". As part of the Year of the Volunteer, having won a small grant in the direction of "Taza Alem", he began filming an ecological reality show under the motto: "7 days - 7 eco-habits." Its participants saved water, learned to sort garbage, did not use transport, lived without electricity, etc.

“Together with volunteers with eco-raids, we went through the most polluted places in Petropavlovsk, installed signs calling for cleanliness there. Thanks to the implementation of the project, a kind of "ecosystem" has been created - signs and leaflets have been installed with calls to preserve the environment, original trash cans for the disposal of masks have appeared in the city, and most importantly, the number of people promoting eco-culture has increased. Our volunteers are ready to mobilize and rally to promote the eco-policy of our country,” said the author of the eco-project.

He put forward initiatives to develop an "interactive map of the country's environmental problems", which will allow you to find out where the cleanest air is, where the most forests are cut down, the maximum accumulation of plastic, etc. He also proposed to develop systemic measures for the protection of natural attractions with the involvement of eco-volunteers and create a “Republican squad of eco-volunteers”. This team will receive training from environmental specialists and work to improve environmental awareness. These ideas found support in the speech of the Head of State.

It should be noted that during this year over 100 thousand people participated in volunteer activities. In our university, about 600 students and teachers were involved in it.
