Kozybayev University as part of the Council for Students of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Kozybayev University Master's student Bogdan Petrov became a member of the Council for Students of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is an advisory body, created on the initiative of the head of the department Askhat Aimagambetov. The main task is to create a dialogue platform directly between students of higher educational institutions and the supervising government agency.

Kozybayev University master's student Bogdan Petrov joined the Council on student Affairs of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is a consultative and Advisory body created on the initiative of the head of the Department Askhat Aimagambetov. The main task is to create a dialogue platform directly between students of higher educational institutions and the supervising state body.

The first meeting took place online. The agenda included issues of developing the Regulation on the Council on Students' Issues, its work plan. About 60 leaders who participated in the meeting stressed the particular importance of supporting such initiatives, because the voice of every citizen of the country must be heard. This is especially important in the education system, because strong knowledge is a solid foundation for the future.

The Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov shared information about the plans within the framework of the Council's activities and the further improvement of the country's higher education. Thus, the issues on the payment of scholarships directly through the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and not through universities, the revocation of licenses of universities in which corruption crimes are committed are being considered. This will increase transparency and openness in the activities of educational institutions. They also talked about the sensational online proctoring system, against which students spoke out on social networks. Council members expressed the need to implement this program, because it is academic integrity that ensures the quality of the knowledge acquired.

A separate item was considered the issue of the implementation of the program "Social student loan", designed to stimulate students to volunteer. Those present talked about its results in 2020 and the difficulties faced by volunteers.

The meeting participants exchanged views, actively asked questions to the head of the department. It was decided to hold meetings of the Council on student issues at least once a quarter, and by the end of this year - to make proposals for inclusion in the work plan.
