Questioning students to determine spiritual and moral values, patriotism and youth guidelines

In order to identify life guidelines, spiritual and moral values ​​and patriotism among university students, the department "Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan" with the technical support of the Strategy and Quality of Education Department conducted a survey. It was attended by 1846 (27%) full-time undergraduate students from all faculties.

Students were offered 30 diverse questions, to which they gave open and detailed answers.

About half of the respondents understand spirituality as religiosity, adherence to morality, the secondary nature of material wealth, and morality - compliance with norms of behavior, honesty and decency. Most positively assess the current state of spiritual culture.

In its formation, according to students, the main role is played by reading fiction, visiting theaters, museums, opening days and communicating with creative people. With regard to obtaining information through the Internet, respondents left 690 comments with conflicting views on the role of social networks. Students of our university believe that their financial situation does not affect their spiritual state.

Most of the respondents are ready to actively participate in volunteer activities. To the number of life values, the students put in 1 place: family, 2 - health, 3 - self-development, 4 - love and 5 - friends. Kindness, honesty, loyalty, responsiveness and responsibility are the qualities that learners value most in people. In the name of a person close to them, our guys are ready to sacrifice: money, public opinion, health, position and life.

More than 60% of respondents associate their future with Kazakhstan. About half are optimistic about the future and believe that they will be able to create a strong family, get a good education and do what they love. At the same time, the majority believes that the future depends on the person himself, his dedication, hard work, education and willpower. In the opinion of young people, possible wars, loss of health, reduced income, natural and social disasters can hinder the achievement of goals. Most students in their lives are satisfied with friendships, relationships with parents, health and study, however, are not sufficiently satisfied with work and leisure.
