Within the framework of the Science Week, the Department of "Journalism" organized a round table on the topic: "theory and practice of preparing and distributing multimedia products of traditional and new media through social networks".
With the rapid development of information and communication technologies, the activities of mass media have changed. Multimedia technology required effective methods to prepare content and deliver it to the audience through social networks. Today, the fact that scientists are engaged in interdisciplinary research indicates the relevance of the topic. The purpose of the Round Table was to contribute to the formation of journalistic competencies.
The event was attended by the correspondent of the Republican newspaper "Egemen Kazakhstan" Meruert Burkitbayeva, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Astana akshamy" Tolen Tleubay and students of the Department of "Journalism". At the Round Table, reports of students Kalieva Dana, Partizan Nurzhanar, Kapez Kuanysh, Nurtazina Alina were heard. The level of their ability to collect, select, and analyze data from the materials they prepared on the topic was observed. They discussed the transition of traditional media from professional journalists to social networks, creating content using the technologies provided by them effectively, increasing the number of subscribers, and attracting readers. A warm exchange of views took place between the two sides. In turn, the students received answers to their questions. When asked about the issue of censorship in the creation and dissemination of information in Kazakhstan, journalist M. Burkitbayeva said that censorship does not have a place in the Constitution, but performs its function depending on the representative funded by independent media, and also considers the policy of the editorial board. An experienced journalist gave useful information about the process of working with information. Senior Lecturer of the department A. zh.Aprylbayeva notes that the concepts of multimedia technology, convergent Editing express the character of new media, and through them there is a need to master new specialties in the field of journalism. Also, in social networks, the media does not lose its popularity as a reliable source of information, rather than information sites. And in the global information space, the importance of journalistic professional ethics is emphasized. The meeting deepened students ' knowledge about the creation and dissemination of journalistic content, expanded the horizons of their worldview.
