Shukenova Raushan Zhunusovna

Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Professor

Shukenova Raushan Zhunusovna was born on April 11, 1942 in the village of Kishkenekol, Kyzylzhar district. Since Raushan Zhunusovna's father was a military man, they often had to move. During her studies, Raushan Zhunusovna changed 4 schools, from 8th to 10th grade she studied in Semipalatinsk at school No. 1 named after Chernyshevsky. During her school years, she was very fond of sports, engaged in athletics and basketball. After graduating from school, she enrolled the Semipalatinsk Pedagogical Institute for the specialty "Chemistry and Biology", after studying for one semester of the first year, it became known that her father was being transferred to the service in Petropavlovsk. For the 2nd semester of the first year, Raushan Zhunusovna studied already in Petropavlovsk at the K.D. Ushinsky State Pedagogical Institute. After graduating from university, she worked for a year at the Mamlut State Farm school. Raushan Zhunusovna has warm memories about this time, she is happy to talk about friendly relations with her class. In 1965, Raushan Zhunusovna was invited to work as a teacher at the technical school of mechanization and agriculture. In November of the same year, she was sent to Almaty, KazSU for postgraduate studies, where she was engaged in scientific research. In 1968, Raushan Zhunusovna returned to Petropavlovsk to devote her whole life to the university. Here Raushan Zhunusovna went from assistant and teacher to professor of the Department of organic chemistry and chemistry of high-molecular compounds.

Since the 90s, Raushan Zhunusovna has been a member of the problem laboratory for the examination of school textbooks on organic chemistry of the publishing house "Enlightenment". The 10th grade textbook of the competition in organic chemistry is analyzed. 

The main direction of her scientific work is the study of the polyphenolic composition of the small-flowered dogwood. Raushan Zhunusovna devoted more than one year of research to this study, she studied biologically active substances that are easily destroyed when heated and in the light. This work requires a lot of work, perseverance, patience and attentiveness. According to the results of the research conducted by Shukenova R.J., more than 111 works have been published, these are various articles, monographs, textbooks. The direction of her scientific activity is the optimization of the educational process in higher and secondary schools.

From 1987 to 1994, Shukenoa Raushan Zhunusovna served as Dean of the Faculty of Natural Geography. And from 1995 to 1997, she was the vice-rector for Academic Affairs. From 1997-2001, she was the head of the educational department. Since 2012, she has been a professor at the Department of оrganic сhemistry and chemistry of high-molecular compounds. Raushan Zhunusovna is a highly qualified specialist, who owns modern teaching technologies. After retiring in 2012, Raushan Zhunusovna continued to work at the department, having worked for another 14 years and held the position of head of the Department of Chemistry.

Shukenova Raushan Zhunusovna is a person with inexhaustible energy, kind, fair and inquisitive, attentive and responsive. She is not only a Teacher, but also a Mentor in many matters. Raushan Zhunusovna is not only a wonderful person, but also a professional in her field. Over the years of her work, she has been awarded a huge number of awards - rector's certificates, rector's commendation, diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1997), badges "For excellent achievements in work" (1988, 1992), "Excellent Worker of Public Education of the Kazakh SSR" (1987), "Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (1997, 2001), as well as the medal "Veteran of Labor" (1987).  Raushan Zhunusovna was included in the book of honor of the Institute (1992) and was awarded the Gold Medal of the NKSU.
