Project manager:  Zveryachenko T.S., PhD.

Project executors: Begenova B.E., Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Ostrovnoy K.A., Master, Bryksina E.V.

Terms of execution: 2018-2020

Amount of financing: 60,000,000 tenge.

Project goal: Identification of species of wild flora in Kazakhstan and development of fermentation technologies for the production of new types of tea products.

Expected results: Creation of an innovative and technological base for the formation of new agricultural clusters for the production of tea drinks (similar to the production of rooibos, honeybush, mate, hibiscus, which have developed in the regions of their traditional growth). Obtaining a Eurasian patent.

Description of the project: Kazakhstan has a unique variety and reserves of wild plants. However, research in the field of searching for plant raw materials for creating new fermented tea-like drinks and methods for their production has not been identified.
The results of the implementation of the proposed project will make it possible to create innovative products based on plant raw materials, form the preconditions for the creation of new industrial agro-clusters for the production of new types of tea drinks in Kazakhstan with the prospects for products to enter foreign markets.

Project objectives:

study of potentially suitable species of wild flora of Kazakhstan;
−preparation of raw materials and fermentation by various methods;
research of the chemical composition of raw materials and products after fermentation;
−conducting safety studies and tasting examinations;
−evaluation of natural resources and the possibility of cultivating promising plant species.
