Project goal: to develop adaptive, resource-saving methods for increasing the productivity of old-age stands of perennial grasses in the region to improve the feed value of pastures.
Expected result: The creation of highly productive haymaking and pasture lands on the lands of old-growth grasslands and their rational use in the forest-steppe zone of Northern Kazakhstan, the development of adaptive resource-saving technologies for the cultivation of perennial grasses, will optimize the structure of haymaking and pastures, improve its feed value, and also increase the yield and protein nutrition of coarse and bulk feed. Improvement of old-age perennial grasses will increase their yield by 27-32%, and livestock products by 20-25%, and the feed value of pastures from 8.0 to 10.0 MJ. The protein content in pasture feed will increase by 15-17%.projectdescription: technologies for increasing the productivity of old-Age stands of perennial grasses will allow us to determine resource-saving types of treatments. The project will help to find effective types of treatments that favorably affect the production of highly productive feed.
Project objective:
- to develop effective methods for the restoration of old-growth herbage;
- to develop agricultural techniques for the cultivation of promising high-protein fodder crops to improve the fodder value of pastures;
- to study the influence of the developed agricultural techniques on the agrochemical and agrophysical properties of the soil, the productivity of cultivated fodder crops and the quality of the resulting feed;
- an economic assessment of the studied agricultural techniques for restoring the productivity of old-growth herbage.
