Development of a Hardware-Software Wi-Fi Interface for Biomedical Signal Transmission Using Wavelet Technologies
This research is funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (grant No. AR19677288).

Project Manager: Gerasimova Yu.V., PhD in Engineering.
Project Performers: Gerasimova Yu.V., PhD in Engineering, Ivel V.P., DSc in Engineering, Moldakhmetov S.S., PhD, Petrov P.A., PhD.
Implementation Period: 2023 – 2025.
Project Goal: Development of a hardware-software Wi-Fi interface as a basis for building autonomous wireless biomedical signal transmission systems with minimal power consumption and increased noise immunity.
Expected Results: Refinement of the Wi-Fi biomedical signal transmission methodology using wavelet technologies, software-based power-saving mode, and conducting a series of experiments using an international computer database of biomedical signals. A package of recommendations will be presented for applying the obtained results in building wireless transmission systems for multidimensional biomedical signals.
Project Description: Development of a hardware-software structure for an autonomous biomedical signal reception-transmission system in the Wi-Fi standard, ensuring the possibility of 24-hour monitoring of the physiological systems of the human body and its individual organs. Development of a biomedical signal transmission algorithm for microprocessor-based dual-core transceivers using wavelet technologies.
Creation of a prototype of a multi-channel dual-processor system for monitoring human biomedical signals, including ECG and EEG electrodes, biomedical integrated amplifier-filter modules, an 18650 standard Li-ion battery, Wi-Fi transceivers, an interface board for converting captured biomedical information into the USB standard, and a personal computer. Compilation of recommendations and development of a methodology for applying the principles of building a hardware-software Wi-Fi interface for biomedical signal reception-transmission in sports medicine organizations and astronaut training centers.
