Evgeny Petrovich Tetyukhin was born in 1942 in the city of Barnaul. In 1965, he enrolled the APIFL (Alma-Ata Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages) and graduated from it in 1969 with a degree in English Teacher in Secondary School. After working for one year at a secondary school in Barnaul, he entered the Higher Courses at the APIFL, which he graduated in 1972. Since that time he has been working at the university. In 1999 he defended his dissertation on the topic "The image of the author in the choice and combinatorics of stylistic techniques (based on the material of Ch. Dickens)" for the degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences. Has 30 publications. In 1999, he organized a scientific seminar of the Department of Germanic-Romance Philology, whose meetings are held monthly to this day.
Scientific and pedagogical activity of Evgeny Petrovich is closely connected with work within the framework of international scholarships and grants. In 2001, Evgeny Petrovich became the winner of the joint competition of Kazakhstan and the USA for the best lesson in English and American studies (the award of excellence in teaching English and American studies). Recently, he has also won other international grants, such as a Small Grant to Support Graduates (2016), a Fulbright grant (2012), a JFDP grant (2006), SSEX (high school exchange) – 2005, a TEA grant (participation in 12 conferences).
Evgeny Petrovich pays considerable attention to participation in sports events. Being a master of sports of international class, he took part in more than 150 wheelchair marathons around the world, in the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney and 2004 in Athens. In 1999, 2000 and in 2002 – 2007 he participated in the international conference on the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities in Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska, USA.
Evgeny Petrovich's sporting achievements are not limited to direct participation in competitive events. Being a talented teacher, he devotes a lot of time to social work: organizing the disabled movement, involving young people with disabilities in sports. Evgeny Petrovich is a member of the Paralympic Committee and the Executive Committee of the Association of Disabled Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Executive Director of the Federation of Disabled Sports of Northern Kazakhstan.
In April 2008, April – May 2010, October – November 2011, Evgeny Petrovich took part in the work of the Center for the Study of Disability Problems at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (USA, Hawaii). The Center is a testing ground for interdisciplinary research in more than 15 disciplines: higher education, social research, healthcare, etc. The work program included speeches to students and teachers of the University of Hawaii, organization of joint activities with students, reading a short series of lectures. Since 2006, Evgeny Petrovich has been a regular participant and presenter of the International Conference on Disability Rights in Honolulu (Pacific Rim Conference on Disability and Education) and the International Forum on Disability Rights in the USA, Hawaii.
Evgeny Petrovich participates in the development of a joint project of the Center for Disability Research at the University of Hawaii and the Department of Germanic-Romance Philology of M. Kozybaev NKSU on the topic “Teaching Leadership to People with Disability (Teaching Leadership to people with disabilities), jointly with Professor Stephen Brown.
In addition to research, teaching and sports activities, Evgeny Petrovich is also an organizer of extracurricular university events held not only for students and teachers, but also for everyone. Thus, the English club, within the framework of which conversations in a foreign language are organized, is visited by teachers, students, graduates of the department, and foreign guests are also attracted. Every month Evgeny Petrovich organizes a picnic – a unique event that has been held since 1983; it is aimed at the comprehensive development of students' personality and the expansion of their horizons. In the fresh air, picnic participants communicate, share valuable experiences, enjoy nature and just relax from the city life. At the same time, teachers and students contribute to the maintenance of the environment, regularly conducting ecological expeditions aimed at restoring and enriching the forest fund of the region.
Evgeny Petrovich Tetyukhin has government awards: medals of merit for the 10th and 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan, the badge "Y. Altynsarin", was awarded a Large gold medal of the M. Kozybayev NKSU.
