The department of Power Engineering and Radio electronics of the Engineering and Technical faculty started scientific research on the project "Development of two cycle innovative curricula in microelectronic engineering (DOCMEN)" by the “ERASMUS - Capacity Building in Higher Education” program which is financed by the European Commission. Coordinators of the project are Krakow Technical University and the "Engineering Consulting and Management for Space Technologies" center (Berlin, Germany).
The main direction of the research is connected with the modernization of educational programs and development of innovative courses of subjects by micro- and nano-electronic technologies, and their introduction into the educational process of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies in accordance with Bologna process and advanced European experience.
Partners by the project are 15 leading universities and 2 scientific-research organizations of Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Israel. Period of execution – 3 years.
There was the kick-off meeting within the framework of the project on 18-19 of February, 2016 at the Krakow Technical university. M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan State University was introduced by the head of “Power engineering and radio electronics” chair K. T. Koshekov and the associate professor A. A. Savostin. There were introduced reports and presentations of achievements and possibilities of the project’s realization from all universities and were identified goals and the program of the researches at the meeting.
The main arrangements of the project’s realization is analysis and introduction of advanced knowledge of micro- and nano-electronics into the educational programs of bachelor and magistracy on the “Radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications”, “ Instrument Engineering”, “Electric Power Engineering”, “Physics”, “ Information systems” specialties; development, publication and acquisition of new literature. Also there is a plan of teachers’ qualification’s increase at the leading European universities and creation of Internet-platform and new “Miclabs” shape laboratory in each partner university of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Armenia and Israel at the expense of financial resources of the project.
There was a meeting in Caspian university (Almaty) on the 27-28th of May. There were introduced reports of working groups to curators of projects from European Union and ERASMUS+ National office.
Realization of the Development of two cycle innovative curricula in microelectronic engineering (DOCMEN)" project at M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan State University
At North Kazakhstan State University by the “DOCMEN” project were realized the following arrangements:
1. Was created research group for project work:
2. The MicSO office was created for passage of SKYPE-conferences at the department.
3. In accordance with the main plan of realization of the “DOCMEN” project was developed a plan of arrangements at the university of the project’s realization for 2016.
4. Targeted faculties and departments were identified for projects realization. They are: engineering and technology faculty and faculty of information technologies. Departments: Department of energetic and radio electronics, Department of transport and mechanical engineering, Department of information systems, Department of physics.
5. Were chosen 6 specialties (two-level educational programs) for “DOCMEN” project’s realization:
Leading teachers of the departments were approved as responsibles.
6. The scroll of taught subjects was created for passage of their analysis and following renovation by specialties. There are 21 subjects of bachelor studies and 9 subjects of magistracy. Common number of credits is 77.
7. The schedule of passage of analysis and modernization of active subjects which close to project’s idea was worked out.
8. Were developed some criteria for teachers’ selection for traineeship at European universities considering their experience of work at university, level of English and skills of educational documentation’s development. Base education is taken into account too.
9. Project’s popularization. Information on “DOCMEN” project was presented Registry university’s council. Was conducted the meeting of department of energetic and radio electronics with heads of targeted departments. Was published the article in student’s “Parasat” newspaper, was created informational booklet about “DOCMEN” project. Actual information on project was posted on NKSU’s website, were placed on stands at the university.
10. Were worked out some questionnaires for analysis of topicality of “DOCMEN” project’s.
11. Were found some enterprises interested in the project. They are Kirow’s factory corporation and PZTM corporation.
12. Two SKYPE-conferences were conducted with Mr. Arnold who is a coordinator of the project.
13. On the grounds of carried out review-analysis of taught subjects were identified actual themes and new subjects that can contribute to improving of existing courses.
14. According to proposed directions of subjects’ perfection was made a selection of laboratory equipment.
