In his address to the people of Kazakhstan "Kazakhstan – 2050: Strategy - a new political course of the established state", the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev pays special attention to national education and science. The future of Science and innovation is in the hands of young people. The main goal of today's conference is to support young people to increase their enthusiasm for science, professional skills and creativity, thereby increasing the intellectual potential of the country.

We are glad to welcome you to our University, which is one of the largest educational, research and cultural centers that are among the certified and accredited universities in Kazakhstan.

The University is a compact campus that includes 9 academic buildings and 4 dormitories.

The University is proud of its astrophysical research center with an Observatory and planetarium, a sports and Wellness center with a swimming pool with a 50-meter track that meets international standards.

There are own country bases for industrial practices and recreation of students: "Miras" and agrobiostation.
Universal free access for users of laptops and mobile devices to the resources of the NKZUnet computer network and the Internet via wireless Wi-Fi access points is provided.

A free health center equipped with the most modern medical equipment is open for teachers, staff and students.
The University has its own TV Studio "Parasat", which broadcasts in two languages (state and Russian), regularly broadcast in the region.

The University publishes its own Newspapers and magazines, and operates three student folk theaters.
The University has the necessary facilities for mass sports activities.

There are 3 sports halls (including two game halls, 1 gym), 3 gyms, 1 wrestling hall, a kettlebell room, a shooting range, skating and skiing facilities, and a mini-football Playground.

Students and undergraduates are engaged in sports and health sections in 15 sports on a free basis.
As you know, in modern conditions, you can become a competitive country only through high-quality education and advanced achievements in science.

In recent years, science has been developing dynamically in Kazakhstan.

This trend is also observed among students and young scientists of our University.

Innovative ideas and improved organization of research activities at the University have become a lever for such changes.
We have all the conditions for conducting scientific research.

The University operates a science and technology Park, which includes 7 research centers and 12 research laboratories.
More than 12% of students from the total number of performers take part in scientific research, including grants from the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Students and undergraduates actively participate in forums, conferences of various levels, round tables and other events.
Publications in the proceedings of conferences held at the University are free of charge for students.

Students and young scientists are tasked with increasing scientific activity, the implementation of which can be achieved by participating in international conferences, summer schools, research grant programs abroad, and publishing in journals, including those with a high impact factor.

The international student scientific and practical conference "Youth and science-2014" is dedicated to discussing current scientific problems in twelve areas.

We are pleased to note that the theme of the conference has found its response in Your scientific materials.
We received more than 400 reports from students representing major scientific and educational institutions in Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, and Ukraine.

Today's conference presents current scientific research of students, in particular, students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Sh. Ualikhanov KSU, E. Buketov KarSU, Omsk state pedagogical University Solikamsk state pedagogical University is actively engaged in research in the field of information technology and natural-scientific directions, Atyrau Institute of oil and gas are actively engaged in research in the field of extraction and use of oil and gas, L.N. Gumilyov eurasian national university on research in the field of chemical technologies of organic and inorganic substances.

These and other issues will also be addressed in the follow-up sections of the plenary meeting.
