Our university has become a platform for a major republican training from the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement IFOAM - Organics International (Germany).
During the week, experts in the field of geoecology and sustainable rural development, consulting and analytics Patricia Flores, David Yavruyan, Vladislav Zhmailo conducted classes on organic farming and animal husbandry. They shared their experience and knowledge on the trends towards the transition to organic production. We considered the main problems of organic agriculture, markets and value chains. We conducted an analysis of the policy of the Kazakh organic farming sector and studied the world experience of regulation in this area.
"Kazakhstan has a enormous potential in the development of organic agriculture, as the soil quality is high here. And our aim today is not just to spread knowledge, but to create a platform for discussion and exchange of opinions between all participants in the production of organic agro products, as building such a dialogue will help solve many problems of the industry," said Patricia Flores, lecturer of the training, manager of the global academy of IFOAM - Organics International.
The participants were representatives of NKR agribusiness, teachers of agricultural universities, marketers, specialists of the National Center of Expertise, research institutes, as well as teaching staff and undergraduates of Kozybayev University.
Along with lectures, work was carried out in groups, recommendations were developed for conducting organic farming courses at the university. There was also a visit to agricultural enterprises of the North Kazakhstan region, which are engaged in the production of organic agricultural products.

At AF of our university, much attention is paid to the issues of biologization and production of organic products: the course on organic farming is included in the educational program of future agronomists. In addition, every year, for the past 8 years, our students have been going on a six-month paid internship in bio-farms in Germany and Poland.
