The monitoring group of the Academic Integrity League of the Republic of Kazakhstan worked at the University for three days. It is an association of higher and postgraduate education organizations in Kazakhstan. The League's mission is to improve the quality of education by promoting the fundamental principles of academic integrity. When it was created, our university was one of the first to join it.
During the monitoring, the commission members met with the leadership of Kozybayev University, structural divisions, deans and heads of departments, teaching staff, students, graduates and employers. The guests were introduced to the alma mater by the Acting Chairman of the Board - Rector Renata Apergenova. She spoke about the rich history and directions of transformation, strategic partnership with the University of Arizona and Northwestern University of Forestry and Agriculture of China. The main focus was placed on the implementation of Academic Policy based on the principles of academic integrity: as part of improving internal processes, the number of test exams was reduced to 2%, mostly they are given in written form; the volume of theoretical questions was reduced and the principle of case study was introduced; social GPA is implemented through the Service to society discipline; the approach was changed to the course of physical education through the format of sports sections (more than 25); employers are involved in teaching in the summer semester.
Students and external experts are involved at the exams as volunteer proctors. There were about 60 of them in the last session. Students also take part in meetings of collegiate bodies of the university. The Sanaly urpaq project office operates.The transparency of the disbursement of research grants and extensive work with supporting documents were also monitored. The guests took a tour of the university campus. The results of the audit will be announced later.
