About the competition for vacant positions of Kozybayev University

Kozybayev University announces a competition for the vacant position of:

  • Head of the Center for Academic Mobility and Internationalization

The requirements for the position are higher or postgraduate education and work experience of at least 5 years.

Job responsibilities: coordinate and plan the activities of structural units in the field of academic mobility and internationalization; lead the search for foreign partners for international cooperation in the field of scientific and educational activities of the university; accomplish general planning for the search, selection and attraction of foreign specialists (top managers) to the university; ensure the establishment and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships with foreign individuals and legal entities; to lead the work on the preparation of bilateral agreements and agreements between the University on the development of plans, programs, roadmaps within the framework of the implementation of international treaties and agreements and other responsibilities.

  • Director of the Institute of Retraining and Advanced Training

The requirements for the position are higher or postgraduate education and work experience of at least 3 years in educational institutions.

Job responsibilities: to accomplish current and strategic planning of activities; to develop a work plan of the Institute for the academic year; involves University teaching staff in the development of educational and methodological materials; attracts qualified teachers, practitioners, including foreign specialists; organizes training sessions (lectures and practical exercises, laboratory work, seminars, trainings, round tables, master-classes); organizes corporate programs at the request of legal entities and individuals; accomplishes marketing in the field of additional education in the domestic and foreign markets and other responsibilities.

  • Academic Secretary of the Academic Council

The requirements for the position are an academic degree of a doctor, candidate of sciences or PhD, scientific papers, scientific and organizational work experience of at least 5 years. 

Job responsibilities: to develop a draft work plan of the Academic Council and the Board jointly with the relevant departments and positions of the university and ensure timely approval of work plans; to accomplish organizational and prepared work on holding meetings of the Academic Council and the Board; to form the agenda of the meeting of the Academic Council and the Board; to keep minutes of meetings of the Academic Council and the Board and to approve them within 5 days after the meeting; prepare extracts from the minutes of meetings of the Academic Council and the Board; Draw up and prepare decisions of the Academic Council and the Board for their approval; request a certificate from the chairman of the commission (2 weeks before the meeting) on issues of meetings requiring commission consideration; request the necessary information, give instructions to university staff in all areas of activity of the Academic Council; request the necessary information, give instructions to university staff in all areas of activity of the Academic Council; to monitor the execution of protocol instructions, decisions of the Academic Council and the Board and provide documentation support to the department of organizational and control work; to inform the chairman in advance of the impossibility of the presence of members of the Academic Council at the meeting.

  • Director of the Science Department

The requirements for the position are higher professional education, a degree and managerial experience in higher education for at least 5 years.

Job responsibilities: to ensure control over the implementation and commercialization of research results by organizing the active participation of teaching staff and university staff in republican competitions for the commercialization of scientific and innovative activities, and concluding business agreements with interested external stakeholders; monitor strategic documents for the Science Department; organize the selection of promising projects for commercialization by conducting their technological assessment; monitor reporting on completed scientific contracts with legal entities and individuals; manage the activities of the department, determine the degree of responsibility of department heads.

  • Director of the Library (for the absence period of a full-time employee)

The requirements for the position are higher professional education and work experience in senior positions in the library for at least five years.

Job responsibilities: to work on the formation of the library fund, taking into account the profile of the university (acquisition, accounting, periodic inventories); to organize the development of long-term and current library work plans and monitor their implementation; to monitor strategic documents in their field; to monitor statistical accounting for the main performance indicators; to determine the development of the library in the most important educational areas, methodological and research activities and ensures its implementation, etc.

A person working at the university and applying to participate in the competition provides:

1) application for participation in the competition;
2) the development strategy of the faculty (deans), the prospects for the development of a department or department (directors / managers) in the form of a presentation of no more than 5-7 slides.

A person who does not work at the university and is applying for participation in the competition provides:

1) application for participation in the competition;
2) an autobiography, presented in any form;
3) copies of educational documents;
4) a copy of the employment record (if available) or the employment contract, or an extract from the orders on the admission and termination of the employment contract from the last place of work;
5) a certificate of health status in the form approved by the Order of the Acting Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 23, 2010 No. 907 "On approval of forms of primary medical documentation of healthcare organizations";
6) a certificate on the presence or absence of accounting information issued by the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the commission of a criminal offense by a person.
7) the development strategy of the faculty (deans), the prospects for the development of a department or department (directors / managers/ chief managers) in the form of a presentation of no more than 5-7 slides.
