Forewarned is forearmed. Tuberculosis prevention among university students

A meeting of 1-2 year students with doctors of the health center and the Regional Center of Phthisiopulmonology, dedicated to the World Tuberculosis Day, was held at the M. Kozybayev NKSU.

Kenzhegul Aripova, the head of OCF Kenzhegul Aripova, delivered a lecture: “Tuberculosis and its prevention”.

The students were told that this disease is difficult to reveal at the initial stage. At the same time, a timely visit to a doctor, basic compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements increases the chances of recovery and helps prevent the spread of infection. Therefore, prevention occupies a special place, namely: playing sports, hardening, eating healthy, treating colds, eliminating bad habits and regular medical examinations.

So, according to Saltanat Saktaganova, head of the health center at M. Kozybayev NKSU, students and staff undergo a mandatory fluorographic examination once a year. Preventive conversations with students, meetings with doctors, TB specialists, pulmonologists, and healthcare specialists are also organized regularly at the university.
