IQAA rating: M. Kozybayev NKSU - among the best multidisciplinary universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan

President of the country Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, speaking at the third meeting of the National Council of Public Confidence, emphasized the need to develop competition between universities. One of the tools to achieve this is to conduct ratings of universities and their educational programs.

Since 2008, the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA) has been publishing the results of the rating of the best higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan, which is based on international ranking standards.

According to its results, M. Kozybayev NKSU became one of the best multidisciplinary universities in Kazakhstan, taking 11th place. And in the ranking of websites of Kazakhstani universities, ours is at 6 positions.

The study traditionally includes several indicators: the diversity of the student population, the results of their training, academic staff, research and innovation, international cooperation, information support. This year, the results of employment of graduates were added to the evaluation criteria. In addition to reputational assessments by experts and employers, additional criteria are included: the assessment of students who are studying at this moment in high school and graduates.

It is important that experts consider data provided by both universities and obtained from independent sources for statistical information and indicators. More than 2,500 questionnaires were sent to companies, organizations and employers' associations by e-mail, over 20% of completed questionnaires were received. A survey of ministries and akimats was also conducted through courier mail and online questionnaires on the agency’s website.

The national rating of the best higher education institutions is designed to help applicants, develop competition between universities, and stimulate them to improve their activities.
