Research Laboratory “Microbiology”
The main objective of the Microbiology Research Laboratory is to participate in research and development (R&D) in the field of comprehensive studies and hygienic assessment of the quality of water from centralized domestic and drinking water supply systems, drinking water and irrigation water, as well as in the epidemiological assessment of the impact of groundwater and surface water quality on public health, taking into account seasonal variations and forecasting the risks of deterioration in water quality.
The main tasks of the laboratory are:
- To conduct microbiological and hygienic analyses of water quality in centralized domestic and drinking water supply sources, as well as drinking and irrigation water in the North Kazakhstan Region.
- To assess seasonal fluctuations in water quality indicators, particularly during the flood period, and identify periods of increased contamination.
- To conduct an epidemiological analysis of the quality of groundwater and surface water sources and their impact on public health.
- To develop methodologies for Diptychs and water quality assessment adapted to the regional characteristics of the North Kazakhstan Region and current environmental conditions.
- To forecast potential risks and threats associated with the impact of water quality and develop measures to prevent adverse effects on public health.
- To prepare scientifically substantiated recommendations for healthcare and water supply authorities to ensure the safety of water resources and reduce sanitary and epidemiological risks.
