11 major research projects are underway at the university

Science is the driving force behind progress. Every year, new scientific discoveries change the world. Without the discovery of the heliocentric system, the structure of the genetic code, the laws of mechanics, electricity, the theory of evolution and much more, it is difficult to imagine modern civilisation.

Scientists' work is complex and invaluable. Our university conducts topical research on resource-saving technologies and increasing the productivity of herbage. The impact of biochar on fertility of chernozem soils; mesospheric silver clouds; algebraic lattice theory; development of a wireless automated system for electrocardiognostics, etc. is being studied. A total of 11 projects to date have received funding from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Over KZT 120 mln were disbursed in 2021. Two more projects, on purification of water bodies with chlorella microalgae and landscaping of the region, have already been implemented and have good results.

The traditional international conference "Youth and Science" was held at Kozybayev University on Science Workers' Day. It drew some 330 papers from Kazakhstan, Germany, Turkey, Lithuania and neighbouring countries.

Opening the event, Damel Mektepbayeva, member of the Board of Innovation and Internationalization, said that the Department of Science of the university carries out extensive work to increase the publication activity of the faculty. In 2021, the number of scientific articles of scientists of the university in the world's largest databases Scopus, Web of Science, RSCI increased by 30%.

To attract more teachers and young scientists to scientific activities, the university introduced the qualification "Teacher-Researcher", which allows you to get a raise of 100 thousand tenge to your salary. Another significant motivation is a bonus for each publication in Scopus and Web of Science.

In addition, the event featured the activities of the university's Council of Young Scientists. Under its "wing", the university has 62 student scientific societies, and more than 1,200 students are involved in research. Start-up projects are being implemented, and cool scientific competitions are being held.

As we can see, the scientific activity in the university is boiling. We congratulate all those involved in research work on their professional holiday! Success and new discoveries!
