Cooperation to continue

The US Ambassador to Kazakhstan Daniel Rosenblum visited our university. During his visit to the North Kazakhstan region, he met with the administration of Kozybayev University and students. Chairman of the Board – Rector Yerlan Shulanov spoke about the collaboration with the University of Arizona, prospects, and goals of cooperation: "In September, we started training 150 students on grants under these programs. About 50 of them will receive two diplomas upon graduation. Today we face the task of reducing the outflow of talented youth from the northern region of Kazakhstan. To do this, we plan to expand the list of double-degree and international programs. The training will be conducted in a new educational and laboratory corpus equipped with modern devices. And in the last semester, the guys will go to study in America."

Our university cooperates with the US Embassy under "the English Language Fellow" grant program. Within its framework, highly qualified English teachers from America work during the academic year in Kazakh universities. They teach students. It is not the first time that Kozybayev University has been held under this program. This year Anna Denisenko became a teacher. She also conducts English language courses for all interested employees and teaching staff. This was a great opportunity for students and teaching staff to improve their linguistic knowledge. The training is provided free of charge. The guests were able to attend such a lesson and communicate with the guys during their visit.

The delegation of the US Embassy also visited the new ELC on an excursion. There was also a meeting with students of the double-degree program at the University of Arizona.
