In the holy month of Ramadan, at the age of 88, Amina Syzdykovna Zholbolsynova, an outstanding scientist, professor, talented teacher of the North Kazakhstan University named after Manash Kozybayev, passed away.
Amina Syzdykovna devoted her whole life to the study and development of colloidal chemistry. In 1958, she graduated from the Chemical Faculty of the Leningrad State University named after A.A. Zhdanov, then from the postgraduate course of the Chemical Faculty of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The research work of the young scientist A.Zholbolsinova was inspired by her teachers, about whom Amina Syzdykovna always spoke with warmth and gratitude: an outstanding Soviet physicochemist, academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Hero of Socialist Labor Peter Alexandrovich Rebinder and a Soviet mathematician, rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences, winner of two Stalin Prizes Ivan Georgievich Petrovsky.
In 1992, Amina Syzdykovna defended her PhD thesis in Moscow "Structure formation and rheological properties of aqueous solutions of gelatin, casein and polyvinyl alcohol in the presence of modifying additives", received the academic title of professor of chemistry.
Developing the direction of the school of colloidal chemistry discovered by Academician Rebinder, Amina Syzdykovna developed the scientific foundations for the production of materials with specified properties, including mixed gels of bio– and synthetic polymers; researched the occurrence of spatial structures in aqueous solutions of high-molecular compounds; created hybrid systems necessary for the development of technology for the production of artificial food and medicines.
At the North Kazakhstan University named after Manash Kozybayev Amina Syzdykovna has worked for more than 60 years. Throughout the entire period of her work, her efforts have always been highly appreciated at the national level, she received the Veteran of Labor medal back in 1987. And later, she received many awards, including the decoration "For Merits in the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (2017), the medal "For contribution to the development of North Kazakhstan State University" (2012), the decoration "Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (2002) and many others.
Amina Syzdykovna opened the world of science to many, under her leadership, 6 applicants who successfully work in different parts of the country defended their dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Chemical Sciences. Her contribution to the science of Kazakhstan is enormous. She has published more than 350 works, received 3 copyright certificates and 26 patents, 6 pre-patents, and about 30 textbooks.
