The XII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Current Issues in Natural Sciences" dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of the first president of the Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences K.I. Satpaev was held at the university. The event was organized in partnership with Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan, Surgut State Pedagogical University, and the Institute of Dendrology of Azerbaijan.
Scientists from Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Finland, Romania, and Bulgaria participated in the conference. Over 150 papers were submitted, including about 50 from countries near and far abroad. The field of scientific interests is extensive, ranging from the dynamics of mountain glacier degradation in the context of climate change to genetics and epigenetics.
"The flagship of science and higher education in Northern Kazakhstan, our university, and its oldest faculty of mathematics and natural sciences play an important role in the research of natural science direction in the country. The faculty's academic staff actively works on scientific projects within the framework of Ministry of Science and Higher Education funding. Over the past 5 years, about 10 projects have been won totaling over 400 million tenge. I would like to separately thank our professors A. Dyuryagin and P. Dmitriev for their outstanding projects of the past year. All this indicates the high potential of our scientists," said the Acting Chairman of the Board - Rector Renat Apergenov.
Also, on this day, the winners and prize-winners of the republican competition of research works of students were awarded. Another pleasant event was the awarding of the annual one-time scholarship to the best student of the Grigoryevsky rural district of Akkayin district, who studies within the walls of our university. The scholarship was established by the district akimat together with agricultural producers in the amount of 100 thousand tenge. This year, it was received by the first-year student of the Institute of Language and Literature Marina Karimova.
In the second half of the day, the conference continued with sectional meetings on the following topics: current issues of science and education in the field of chemistry, ecological-geographical research, theory and methodology of teaching computer science, mathematics, and physics, modern research in biological systems."
