The university held a conference on the 15th anniversary of the program "Kazakh journalism"

15 years have passed since the opening of the specialty "Kazakh journalism" in our university. This is a significant date not only in chronicles of NKSU, but also in the history of North Kazakhstan media. In high school, this event celebrated by conducting the scientific-practical conference "Actual problems of the training of journalists in the regions." The conference became a platform to exchange views and experiences, and excellent occasion to remember how it all began.

Zarkyn Tayshybay, professor: "Undoubtedly, the opening of the branch of Kazakh journalism in 2001 entered the history of the North Kazakhstan media. Since independence, the media have established its own clear position in society, increased credibility. Therefore, in the training of journalists, we are trying to instill in them a sense of responsibility for every word in addition to professional knowledge. Work for the benefit of independence - the main task of the journalists".

The vice-rector for educational work Mukaram Taizhanova has made the opening speech: "15 years ago the idea of opening the branch of Kazakh journalism faced with many difficulties. The lack of teaching staff, methodical materials. All this would not have happened if not Zarkyn Syzdykovich Tayshybay. Taking responsibility, he became a strong foundation for this specialty in our university. His progressive thinking and a great idea had encouraged his colleagues and students".

For 15 years, more than 80 young journalists have become its graduates. They all work in the offices of national, regional newspapers, radio and television. Today, many of them came to alma mater to meet with teachers and classmates. Journalists trained in the program "Bolashak" in America and Europe sent video greetings.

Today, 64 students are training on the specialty "Kazakh journalism". This year, 10 graduates will have diplomas.
